Currently available sets: Hickory: an absolutely great wood for game sets: very hard, very durable, taking an excellent finish, and a beautiful wood, mixed with "heartwood" of mellow brown, and "sapwood" of a lighter yellowish brown; very closed grain. $51 Hard Maple: this wood is very nearly white, the lightest available hardwood. It's also extremely hard, durable (chopping blocks are made of this wood). There is a subtle grain, very slightly darker. Sets made of hard maple are especially nice because the extremely light color makes the game markings and holes stand out in deep contrast. $44 Bubinga: one of the "elite" hardwoods, this wood is very red, and has a "figured" grain, making for a beautiful set. In addition, these sets are over large, measuring about 3" in width. A great set for a console game table. $99 Also available upon request (custom orders): yellow-heart: satiny finished brilliantly yellow wood with subtle but shimmering highlights. A great wood for a game set because the light color offers high contrast with the game holes and markings. $50 Spalted American Beech: 'spalting' is the process which occurs when a downed log gets a fungus and this results in curlicue very fine black lines running through the grain. A very interesting and beautiful wood, sometimes with wormholes. Warm browns and yellow tones. Each set of this would be "one of a kind." $60
